About Us

Our Story

KT Healthcare was founded by Emily and James, combining clinical expertise with lived family experience. What began as an independent speech and language therapy company has grown into multidisciplinary brain injury and autism/ADHD services for children and adults. Shaped by both professional knowledge and personal experience navigating long waiting lists, our mission is to improve access to compassionate, high-quality services for families across the UK.

The KT Healthcare Timeline

1999-2003 - The Beginning

Emily began her degree in Speech and Language Therapy in 1999, qualifying in 2003. She worked across a wide range of services with both children and adults, including paediatric community clinics and specialist inpatient and community neuro-rehabilitation settings. Over the years, she developed extensive experience supporting individuals with complex needs, neurological conditions, and communication difficulties. Meanwhile, James joined the Royal Marines in 1999 and involved in operations in Northern Ireland, Kosovo and the Iraqi invasion in 2003.

2008 - Building Independent Services

Emily established her own private company in 2008 focusing on independent speech and language therapy. Later this developed into providing brain injury services for both adults and children within the medico-legal sector. This work took her across the UK, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting families navigating life after acquired brain injury. This period laid the foundations for future services built around quality, flexibility, and personalised input. Meanwhile, James left the marines and in 2013 set up his own maritime security company.

2018 - Expanding Services

After moving out of London, Emily and James joined forces, planning to expand their brain injury services and develop a team of speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, music therapists and physiotherapists from their garden.

2021 - A Turning Point

In 2020, Emily’s professional focus expanded into neurodevelopmental services when their youngest child began showing signs of autism, and their eldest child was diagnosed with ADHD. Following this, James noticed similar signs within himself and sought his own ADHD diagnosis. Navigating long waiting lists and limited support gave them first-hand experience of the challenges many families face. At the same time, services rapidly adapted during COVID, with remote working helping bring clinicians together and expand access to care.

2024 - Private Neurodevelopmental Services Launched

With a growing nationwide team, KT Healthcare continues to support children, adults, and families through expert, compassionate, and responsive care.
